The Whispering Depths Update

Hey all, sorry for the late upload. I thought I’d update you all on how The Whispering Depths is going.

I’ve just completed my latest draft, after a long bout of reading and editing and re-reading and tweaking. It’s currently sitting around 75,000 words, which is roughly where I was aiming for.

I had to cut quite a long section (no spoilers!) from the final third of the book because it just didn’t work. It didn’t fit the tone of the story, and as much as I loved this particular section, it had to be done.

Who knows, maybe I can use some of it for another story.

So for now I’m leaving it alone. I’m letting the story rest so I can come back and read it with fresh eyes and a fresh perspective. I’m sure more rewriting is in my future.

While I wait I’m still working on The Road to Ithaca, which is so much fun to write. It’s looking to be a slightly shorter book, closer to a novella or on the lower end of novel-length. But I love it none-the-less.

That’s all for today, sorry for the relatively late upload. Trust me, there’s plenty to look forward to next year.

Thanks for reading!

Lachlan
